Tumoni is a borderless financial services platform focused on banking people through free remittances. At Tumoni, we believe everyone has the right to access fair financial services. Due to complex barriers to access, Central Americans in the US and their families back home are the most underbanked demographic on the American continent. This paradigm forces Central Americans to depend on expensive and cumbersome cash-based intermediaries for every financial transaction. Through our tech stack and regional network of banking partners, we open domestic bank accounts to recent migrants in the US and do the same for their families back in Central America. This unique technical and operational architecture creates a closed loop that allows us to turn remittances into free P2P transfers – the #1 concern for our clients.

What you will do at Tumoni

We’re looking for a TikTok-native university student to become Tumoni’s in-house content creator. You will own our short-form video presence end-to-end – from concept to camera to edit to publish. This is not a managed role. You will work with significant autonomy to build an audience, tell our story, and make Tumoni impossible to ignore in the feeds of Nicaraguans and Central Americans across both sides of the border.

You understand trends before they peak, know how to make financial topics feel human and relatable, and can switch naturally between product education, behind-the-scenes culture content, and scroll-stopping entertainment.

What you'll bring to Tumoni:

Content creation:

  • Concept, shoot, and edit short-form videos for TikTok and Instagram Reels – independently and without heavy oversight
  • Own a weekly content calendar covering product benefits, feature explainers, trending formats, office and team culture, and employer branding
  • Identify and adapt trending sounds, formats, and challenges to make Tumoni content feel native to the platform
  • Use CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or equivalent tools to produce polished, on-brand edits

Community & engagement:

  • Respond to comments and DMs to keep audiences engaged and build community
  • Monitor brand mentions and flag opportunities for reactive or trend-jacking content
  • Identify and engage with creators, influencers, and communities relevant to the Central American diaspora

Strategy & reporting:

  • Track and report weekly on key metrics: reach, views, follower growth, engagement rate, and saves
  • Translate performance data into content decisions – double down on what works, kill what doesn’t
  • Propose experiments and new content formats based on platform trends and audience feedback
  • Collaborate with the marketing and growth teams to align content with campaigns and product launches

Requirements for the role:

  • Currently enrolled university student (any field)
  • TikTok native – you consume and understand the platform intuitively, not academically
  • Proven ability to shoot and edit short-form video independently (a portfolio or active account is required)
  • Strong on-camera presence or experience directing others to be
  • Fluent in Spanish and comfortable creating bilingual content
  • Self-directed and comfortable working with minimal briefing – you own the ideas
  • Bonus: familiarity with fintech, remittances, or the Central American migrant experience

What success looks like

  • 3 or more pieces of original content published per week across TikTok and Reels
  • At least 3 videos per month reaching 50,000+ organic views
  • Weekly performance reports delivered consistently with clear takeaways
  • Measurable lift in app downloads from organic social traffic
